Barbel Show 2025

A date for your diary/calendar, this years Barbel Society Show will on Sunday 8th June at the Notts County football stadium. As always we will have some excellent speakers and a great trade area, where you’ll be able to stock up on bait & tackle for the new season.

More details will be released soon…

Barbel Fisher

We are looking for articles for the next Barbel Fisher magazine which is due out in June.

A typical article is 1500 to 2000 words with half a dozen pictures. Steve Pope will help out with any editing that is required.

It’s very satisfying to see your own article published, so why not give it a go, you might be surprised at how quickly you can write 1500/2000 words.

You could write about a specific days fishing, maybe it was a red letter day, or a new PB, or just a particularly memorable session. Alternatively you could write about your overall season, a particular stretch of water you’ve been fishing, an approach or tactic you’ve recently tried or even a foreign trip.

Have a think and if you need any advice then drop Steve P a line, or have a go and send the article to Steve at stevepope@btinternet.com

Barbel Masters

The Barbel Society is pleased to announce in collaboration with the Angling Times the launch of a new competition that will reward Angling Times readers for their catches.

Called ‘Barbel Masters’, the competition will award the captor of what’s deemed to be the best fish landed each week with a year’s free membership to the Society. Prizes will be awarded on the basis of merit, rather than just sheer size of the fish, meaning barbel landed from tricky waters, or those that result from dedicated campaigns, are more likely to scoop the prize.
